Textured Crown Beauty was born from a lifelong devotion to hair, healing, and holistic care. My journey began over 30 years ago, braiding and installing weaves long before textured hair was widely celebrated or properly protected. What started as a skill shared within community quickly became a calling rooted in service, education, and empowerment.

As my career evolved, I felt drawn to deeper forms of care. I pursued nursing school and later became a licensed holistic therapist, allowing me to understand the body, stress, hormones, and emotional health from a clinical and integrative perspective. That foundation shapes everything I do today because hair does not exist in isolation. It reflects lifestyle, nourishment, stress levels, and self connection.

Long before holistic beauty became a trend, I learned the power of natural healing at home. I was raised by a grandmother who grew her own herbs and created natural remedies, teaching me that true care begins with the earth. Those early lessons planted the seeds for a lifelong respect for plants, nature, and intentional living.

In adulthood, I intentionally refined and perfected that craft by studying herbs, scalp health, and plant based formulations that support strong, healthy natural hair. Today, I create my own all natural hair care products using herbs chosen to nourish the scalp, protect strands, and promote long term hair integrity. These formulations are not shortcuts. They are rituals designed to educate and empower clients to care for their hair beyond the salon.

Returning to beauty school was a conscious decision to elevate my technical mastery, refine modern techniques, and ensure my work meets the highest professional standards. At Textured Crown Beauty, tradition meets education, and beauty is approached with patience, purpose, and respect.
